MedVault One

Your medical history lives in one paper book: lose it, and it's gone. MedVault One puts it on your phone, encrypted, and a small box called the Vault keeps clinics working without internet. 1st place, Youth Exhibition, 9th National ICT Summit 2026.

MedVault One helps patients carry their medical history from one visit to the next. They can view their records on their phone and choose which clinic can access them. Clinic staff can open the shared history and add the latest visit without starting again from a paper book.

When the internet drops, care can continue. A palm-sized device called the Vault keeps the clinic desk and patient phone connected locally. New visits can back up when a connection returns, and a printed code gives patients without a smartphone a way to access their records at the clinic.

We demonstrated the patient and clinic journey at the 9th National ICT Summit on 15 October 2026 and won 1st place in the Youth Exhibition.

Patients carry their medical history in a single paper book: one copy, no backup, readable by anyone. And many clinics can't count on an internet connection.

We built an encrypted records system across a phone app, a clinic desk app, and the cloud, plus the Vault, a small offline box that keeps clinics syncing when there's no internet.

01The problem
The paper book

One copy of a patient's history, no backup, readable by anyone who picks it up.

02Windhoek, online
Consent at the desk

The patient scans, taps yes, and the clinic can open her file.

03Rundu, offline
No internet, no problem

The desk and phone sync through the Vault instead.

04Sync when connected
Saved online

New visits back up to the cloud whenever anything gets online.

05Printed code
No phone either

A printed code works in place of a phone.
